NEW FAULKNER PLANETARIUM SHOW & SPRING BREAK SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED
TWIN FALLS, ID – The last week of March sees the arrival of spring break, and with it the opening of a new giant screen film, sure to dazzle audiences, at the Faulkner Planetarium. Sixty-seven million years ago a tyrant of unmatched superiority stalked the continent. Standing 13 feet high, 40 feet long, and weighing in at nearly 18,000 pounds, this fearsome apex predator sported a mouth full of eight-inch, razor-sharp teeth, capable of ripping huge chunks of flesh from its prey. Its name, from the Greek words meaning “tyrant lizard king:” Tyrannosaurus rex.
T.REX, produced by Giant Screen Films, tells the true story of three young boys who made the incredible discovery of a juvenile T. rex fossil in northwestern North Dakota’s Hell Creek Badlands. The film also recounts our evolving understanding and portrayal of T. rex over the 100-plus years since its first fossil was uncovered. Cutting-edge CGI brings T. rex and other dinosaurs to life on the dome. Discover how rexling siblings may have hunted together and marvel as an old rex does battle with one of its main adversaries, Triceratops.
T.REX opens the last week of March—spring break for most of southern Idaho. Beginning Tuesday, March 25th, there will be 20 showings of the film through Saturday, March 29th, including 11:00 AM shows Tuesday through Friday, and 1:30 and 3:30 PM matinees Tuesday through Saturday.
